Cider
Hot Spiced Apple Cider
- 1.25 liter non-alcoholic apple cider
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 crushed cardamom pods
Heat apple cider, cinnamon and cardamom in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes to allow the spices to infuse their flavour. Strain and divide among serving glasses. Serve immediately.
Warm Apple and Brandy Cider
- 750ml sparkling apple cider
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 1/2 cup brandy
Place cider, cinnamon, cloves and golden syrup in a saucepan over high heat. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 5 minutes or until fragrant. Stir in brandy. Strain into heatproof glasses. Serve.
Spiced Warm Cider
Warm your guests'hearts and souls with this mulled holiday punch.
- 1/2 gallon(s) apple cider
- 1/3 cup(s) dark brown sugar
- 2 stick(s) cinnamon
- 5 whole allspice berries
- 1 (1/2 inch by 1/2 inch) chunk fresh ginger, peeled
- 3 whole cloves
- 8 slice(s) orange
In a 3-quart saucepan, combine cider, sugar, cinnamon sticks, allspice berries, ginger, and cloves. Heat to a simmer and allow to cook 20 minutes. Strain into a punch bowl and garnish with orange slices. Serve warm.
